This site had an existing narrow strip of riparian vegetation, and scattered old Casuarina cunninghamiana with an understorey of grass maintained by slashing. Lantana and prickly tobacco were removed in late 2020-early 2021.
500 trees were planted in March 2021, with an additional 50 planted in June 2021 as part of a World Environment Day activity at Crystal Waters.
In January-February 2022 the site was severely flooded several times, with all planted trees completely flattened.
Some trees were lost, but most were righted and re-established well. On-going maintenance has been done to remove vines and weedy shrubs, especially prickly tobacco.
